The republic of Indonesia is one of the richest and most diversified site of aquatic biota, especially fish. The managements of such richess has encountered surmountable obstacles, due to lack of competent manpower and technological equipment. To reduce such obstancles the Government of Indonesia has promulgated the Law Number 31 of 2004 regarding Fishery. The said Law covered not only violations and criminal deeds againts the indonesian natural resources but also the legal jurisdiction of the republic. the application of the said law was begun, and it will be of great help for the government and the people.rnrnKeywords: Aquatic resources, fishery, illegal finishing.
