Analisis Pelaksanaan Undang-Undang Nomor 31 Tahun 2000 Tentang Desain Industri (Binamulia Hukum)
Although the implementation of Law No. 31 of 2000 regarding industrial design is still relatively new, however, it has prompted a number of national designers to register their industrial designs. This is also evident from the number of industrial designs of domestic origin being more than those of overseas origin. Compared to the industrialized nations, it is dear that the number of industrial design applicants in Indonesia is deemed relatively smaller than but is still exceeds those of ASEAN member states, such as Thailand and Singapore. Therefore, socialization of the Industrial Design Law still need to be improved not only among national entrepreneurs, but also among officials at the Directorate General of Intelektual Property Rights (Ditjen HaKI) so that the process of industrial design registration may be performed in accordance with the prevailing laws. If this can be done, the number of domestic industrial design applications could further increase.
