By virtue of the Law Number 24 of 2003, the Republic of Indonesia established a Constitutional Court, that shall be responsible to solve matters on constitutional disputes. The establishment of such Court was based on the Article 24 C paragraph (1) of the Constitution of 1945 Amandment). Latter, by virtue of the Law Number 12 of 2008 the Court has been given the responsibility to solve disputes on the regional general elections. In the year of 2008 the Court has settled two disputes on regional general election, the first was the general election of the governor and vice governor of East Java province. The second was the dispute related to the output of regency general election at the regency of North Tapanuli. The Court's rulings has triggered pros and cons, but the Court affirmed that her duty is to protect the Constitution and democracy in Indonesia.rnrnKeywords: Constitutional Court, Regional General Election, Dispute.
