This article describes the position and neutrality of the Indonesia civil servants. A wave of changes have been experinced by the members of this group during the Old Order government, which prohibited the civil servants to become members of any political party. Followed by the permit to become members of the political parties and Golkar in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.
