With the rapid development of science and technology, which means the ease to produce various goods and services to be consumed, the consumers faced a serious problems, namely how they may weighed the proper balance of benefits and detriments of consumption. In Indonesia, the concern to protect the consumers has been realized through the establishment of Yayasan Lembaga Konsumen Indonesia (Indonesia's Consumers Foundation), namely since 1973. In 1999 the Indonesia Government promulgated the Law Number 8 of 1999 on Consumers Protection (Perlindungan Konsumen). The key issue in such Law was the reverse of the burden of proof, a method that is beneficial for the consumers in their stance against the producers.
