The main issue in this paper is to study the functions, duties and authority of the Indonesian Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS). The results showed that the Indonesian Deposit Insurance Corporation has the function to guarantee depositors, contribute actively to maintain the stability of the banking system in accordance with its authority. The Indonesian Deposit Insurance Corporation is an independent, transparent, accountable institute carrying. In order to perform their duties to the maximum, independence of the Indonesian Deposit Insurance Corporation should be implemented consistently and should be equipped with the authority to determine the condition of the banks, without interference of Parliament.rnrnKeywords: Authority of Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation.
